Fun Ideas

Hello everyone!
I know its been a few months since i started the blog and only wrote when i started this blog! So here here i am trying to start a better routine.

I bought a CD from www.KidSparkz.com which is a CD of preschool resources. This saves me a ton of time making my own worksheets and activity papers for the kids. Yesterday I printed the pages I wanted the kids to work with today and put clear contact paper on them to laminate them. We also used a few of yesterdays groundhog activities per their request.

The first we did math mats we have three of them: Hot cocoa, snowman, and then a tree with no leaves.

The math mats help the kids learn math... The original idea is to write a number in the box and have them put that many items on the mat.

I took a large pink dice that people put in their rear view mirror and cut the string off. Now i have to giant dice. ) Its easier to keep track of and harder to misplace! :D

1. roll the die 2. put the number of items as you roll on your mat. (example you have the hot cocoa mat you roll a 2 put 2 marshmallows on the mat) 3. you roll again add those to the mat as well 4. have the kids count the marshmallows ( 2+3=5)

I put all the pieces together in sand baggies so they are all together when we are done with them this week I will add hole punches and put them in a binder with our winter activities.

We also have snowflake and tree cards numbered 1-12. There is two sets of each which allows for several activities. ( matching, Memory, ordering 1-12, 12-1, odd numbers, even numbers etc... depending on the ages of your children and what skills you wish to work on)

For outside activities we have the privilege to talk about frost and explore how it looks and feels on the trees.

We also do sensory bins but my computer is not reading those pictures I will try to post a day of just sensory bins! Since that did not work here is another idea i had: Taking kids on a field trip to the outdoor ice rink which is maybe a block from my house...we will see...

This is our lunch we had today per children requesting. easy to make add spaghetti noodles to hot dogs boil tell both are done.

Yesterday's activities were all about groundhogs of course! This is a picture of a groundhog turned into a puzzle which was good for my two year old's too easy for the four year old's.

we also colored the picture on the left and the kids drew what they thought the groundhog would see when he popped his head out.

We also talked about shadows and explored them during our outside activities. ( sorry no photos of this :( )
